Ideal Safety product for this time of year

I worked for a business that operated out of a mine, and a part of the essential safety equipment was a torch in case the electrics failed in the event of fire or grid failure.

Alarm Torch

I trialled a torch that is available on Amazon https://amzn.to/3AArHYr the reason I picked this torch for trial is that it had a 130dB alarm attached, which allowed in the event of an emergency the operator to summon help, at 100ft underground radio signal is limited so audio supported with a strobe light was far more effective.

Obviously, this had its limitation, there needed to be someone within earshot to hear the alarm or see the strobe, so it needed to be used in conjunction with loan worker procedure, this could be achieved by having a central hub to report in a set schedule, failure to report in would result in a supervisor checking for the last place they were known to be working and a physical visit.

I also supplied the security officers with the XL version, this is a substantial piece of equipment having a fair amount of weight behind it and a long-lasting rechargeable battery, not only could it be used as a light, or a request for help but could be used as a means of defence should they be attacked in the process of performing their duty.

Now the nights are drawing in it is more important to be properly equipped when doing activities such as walking the dog, picking the kids up from school or any other outside activity, the chance of being attacked is very low but with limited light is increasingly possible to trip and injure yourself, having a convenient light source to light your way will minimise the risk of tripping, in the event you do fall then having an audible and visual device to raise attention to passer-byes can speed any support you might need.

I am a 55-year-old male, I am not as slim as I used to be and quite capable of looking after myself, however, I always take my alarm torch with me when I take Rosie out.
